Have you ever tried to make a life change only to be frustrated by a lack of progress? Have you found it difficult to sustain a change even if you are persistent and motivated? It’s possible that a paradigm may be at the root.
What’s a paradigm?
A paradigm is a set of habits that we have embedded in our subconscious mind to the point that we behave habitually without even thinking. We can think anything we want but we rarely take control of our thinking. We have been conditioned from birth to accept as true what we hear from others or see happening around us. We grow up with a set of limitations that are self- imposed but more than likely were originated by what we have been told, what we have seen happen to others or what we ourselves have experienced.
Changing paradigms
You might be thinking, “Am I stuck with being unable to change?”
No. Paradigms can be changed. Becoming aware of them is the first step. Working to replace old paradigms with new ones can lead to the long lasting change we desire. We can empower ourselves and our daughters to think differently and independently.
Images are mental pictures that are made from thoughts. Where are those thoughts coming from? Do you see how our self-image is created by the thoughts we think? Do you understand the importance of taking control of what we think? We, like our daughters, are the mental architects of our own destinies. Yet we have allowed others to define us. It is one thing to know this and another to make it work for us instead of against us. What do you want to be true for you?
